Children’s Inn, a program of Children’s Home Society, in Sioux Falls, SD is currently seeking two part time Overnight Crisis Workers to provide program, case management and crisis intervention services as well as to clean and maintain the facility.

What You’ll Do:
Your responsibilities as an Overnight Crisis Worker would include:

• Complete daily cleaning and laundry tasks for the facility.
• Complete maintenance chores according to the maintenance manual and checklists.
• Prepare and serve breakfast, as needed.
• Respond to crisis telephone calls, arrest interventions, drop-in counseling sessions, shelter assessments, shelter intakes and departures.
• Respond to needs of shelter clients.
• Care for and supervise children in the absence of parent or caretaker.
• Assist in administration of medications to children in placement.
• Transport clients as necessary. 
• Complete necessary forms and documentations.
• Responsibilities for on-call duties as assigned.

Schedule:  2 positions available
Position 1:
Every other Fri & Sat from 10pm-8am

Position 2:
Every other Fri 12pm-8am & Sat 10pm-8am

Employees in this position may work additional shifts when available if desired.

Experience/Education/Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Education or Human Services field preferred. Three years’ experience in human service preferred. References that can depict level of interest in working with children in crisis situations. Knowledge of and ability to use personal computers and software utilized by the office. Valid South Dakota driver’s license preferred. Must be 21 years of age. 

Physical Demands and Work Environment: Environment focused on care of children in crisis situations.  The employee is regularly required to bend and sit on the floor with children. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. 

Compensation: $16.30/hr + applicable, full-time experience.
